THE NEW BEAUTY SPOTS

After a series of fashion shows each more fabulous than the last, Paris Fashion Week was also marked by a beauty event this season: the opening of DOVER STREET PARFUMS MARKET at 11 bis rue Elzévir, twenty-five years after launching its first fragrance and fifteen years after the opening of the Dover Street Market fashion store in London. To mark the occasion, we have chosen the emerging new beauty spots for you.

DOVER STREET PARFUMS MARKET

DSM stands out in Paris with a store dedicated to cosmetics. Like its big sisters, this is a cutting-edge shop offering an up-to-the-minute beauty and perfume selection in a space with a modern, streamlined architecture. It is now possible to shop for the 60 fragrances from COMME DES GARÇONS as well as many other products, such as Paco Rabanne’s Pacollection line, The Alchemist’s Garden from Gucci, Thom Browne’s new fragrance and a choice of Byredo fragrances.

Skincare and make-up products, mostly from the realm of so-called organic cosmetics, along with scented candles, are also available. In this instance, Rei Kawakubo has imagined a stroll through the midst of an exuberant forest of partially hollow ovoid pillars in which are nestled shelves decorated with matte white rendering, a plaster bandage effect, shiny white tiling or silver glitter.

OFFICINE BULY

Less recent but just as spectacular, Officine Buly on rue Bonaparte remains one of our favourite beauty concept stores as much for its exceptional venue as its niche products: water-based fragrances, natural ointments and soap bars.

The brand has recently taken up residence in a new neighbourhood with a pop-up in the Allée du Grand Louvre until 6 January 2020 and a very first collaboration with the Parisian museum. To mark the occasion, L’Officine Universelle Buly has asked eight French noses to choose one of the museum’s best-known works and create a scent for it. An original idea, just like the brand!
